This year is the second year of the Big Bang! We’re expanding it into a two day event this time, making it our biggest competition yet!

This comp will be a great day of climbing for anyone, from first time competitors to the best in Ireland and beyond. Competitors will have the chance to climb on 30 qualifying boulders at a range of difficulties, featuring all styles of climbing from techy slabs to powerful overhangs, coordination jumps and everything in between.

The juniors will climb on saturday with qualis in the morning and finals in the afternoon. There will be three categories for junior; U13, U15 and U17.

The senior competition takes place on Sunday. Last year was bigger than we imagined, so we have split senior qualifiers into two time slots this year; 9AM – 12:30PM and 1PM – 4:30PM.

There are three community categories; 16+, 30+ and 45+, these have unlimited attempts on the boulders with extra points for flashes and zone holds. Competitors in the open category have just 5 attempts per boulder with the top six men and women progressing to finals in the evening, where they will battle it out in front of the crowd. With a livestream and professional sound and lighting, this will be an evening to remember!

On the day, we will also have fresh holds to climb on from AXIS, Climb-Holds.com and Core as well as a pizza van to fuel you for your session. There will also be generous spot prizes from supporting companies such as PHD Nutrition, Beyond Hope, Ark and Core for those who stick around to watch finals!
